This cuvée, which is a nod to Camille's grandmother, and illustrates through its aromatic density the generous personality of the Pinot Noir grapes which grow in Coulommes-la-Montagne.

Jean-Marie Massonnot Champagne traces its roots back to the 1930s when Aimé Massonnot began making and selling his own Champagne. Massonnot was passed from generation to generation, and in the ‘80s, Aimé’s grandson, Jean-Marie, ushered in the modern era of the domaine, drawing on the past while also looking toward the future. He took great care in preserving his father’s massal selections from the 1950s while also fully converting the pinot meunier-dominant estate to organic by 2021. Today, the domaine is a multigeneration operation with Jean-Marie’s daughter, Camille, at the helm.

See: Deep golden hue with a generous, energetic mousse — classic Blanc de Noirs richness.

Smell: Exuberant and almost tropical — pineapple and lychee up front, balanced by garden notes of pear and mirabelle plum. Fruit with real crunch.

Taste: Blackberry and dark stone fruit unfold in layers, edging toward candied late-summer flavors, with plenty of energy driving it forward. BRUT, 6 g/L.

Pair: Cheesy cocktail bites, a good quality ham bone, gently cooked white meat, or a proper poule au pot (chicken poached with cream and mushrooms).

Celebrate: For the sibling who always finds a way in — the scrappy win, the last-minute save, the plan that somehow worked out anyway.

Village: Coulommes la Montagne
Region: Montagne de Reims
Vintage: 70% 2017, 30% vin de réserve
Varieties: 60% pinot noir, 40% meunier
Disgorgement: April 2026
Dosage: 6 g/l

Jean-Marie Massonnot Champagne traces its roots back to the 1930s when Aimé Massonnot began making and selling his own Champagne in Coulommes-la-Montagne, a small village in Vallée de la Marne.

Camille’s husband; her parents, Jean-Marie and Christel; and her brothers, Valentin and Victor, help however they can. Even Camille’s young children find small ways to lend a hand. In the vineyards, Camille continues her father’s commitment to thoughtful, harmonious, organic farming while also incorporating more modern growing and winemaking techniques of her own.

Always honing her winemaking style, Camille keeps human intervention to a minimum — no dosage, no sulfites, no filtration and slow aging on lees — allowing each cuvée to express its unique identity.
