We’re hiring a Tasting Room Celebration Specialist:
Seattle, WA, Part-Time, Wednesday-Saturday
This is a part-time tasting room position with the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right person. For now, we’re looking for the perfect someone to join our team 25-30 hours a week, Wednesday-Saturday.
About fatcork:
We’re a boutique Champagne club, bottle shop and tasting room partnering with small, independent producers to import the world’s best grower Champagne from France. Our tasting room team is made up of friendly Champagne enthusiasts who live by our mantra “celebrate every day.”
The Role:
We're looking for a cheerful, dependable, hospitality-driven part-time celebration specialist to join our team in the tasting room. This part-time celebration specialist will work Wednesday-Saturday. Depending on the candidate, we can be flexible with scheduling. And for the proven perfect fit, this role has the potential to grow into full-time down the road.
What You'll Do:
Provide excellent, welcoming service to guests in a hospitality setting:
- Greet guests warmly as they enter the cave
- Assist guests with choosing the perfect bottles
- Facilitate Champagne tastings
- Engage guests in wine discussions — with a primary focus on grower Champagne but with opportunities to learn and speak about wines from other regions
- Process customer orders
- Promote our Champagne club and email list sign-ups
Support the tasting room team with a positive, can-do attitude:
- Learn and apply product knowledge quickly in a rapidly evolving environment
- Work efficiently while handling multiple tasks at once, supporting smooth service flow
- Assist with day-to-day operational needs to keep service running seamlessly
- Assist with large deliveries of Champagne
- Close the tasting room at the end of the evening shift
What We're Looking For:
-
Welcoming, personable demeanor with strong customer service skills
-
Hospitality experience preferred (wine experience not required)
-
Fast learner with the ability to build knowledge as the role develops
-
Comfortable working in a high-speed environment where efficiency and timing are critical
-
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
-
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment
-
Physical ability to repeatedly lift cases of Champagne (sometimes over your head) that weigh up to 50 pounds
-
Willingness to help out wherever it’s needed (sweep the doors, wipe down tables, etc.)
-
Computer proficiency
-
At least some basic wine knowledge (whatever you don’t know, we can teach you!)
Compensation:
- Compensation starts at $28/hour
- Additionally, our celebration specialist will receive a monthly allocation of grower Champagne and the option to take home opened bottles at the end of their shift.
- Position reports to the fatcork tasting room manager.
- This is a part-time, hourly position with the expectation of working evenings Wednesday-Saturday.
* Please note: Vacation time is not available in November and December. This is our busiest season of the year!
