How to Set Up a Champagne Bar

Wondering how to set up a Champagne bar? Pull up a stool and grab a glass; you’ve come to the right place. The best-ever DIY Champagne bar doesn’t require much (we even skip the sugary juices and fussy garnishes), but it makes an enormous impact — elevating celebrations or making even ordinary moments extraordinary. In this guide, we’ll share creative ideas for how to set up your own Champagne bar, a list of essential supplies and everything you need to know to create the ultimate bubbly bar.
Read on for how to set up the perfect Champagne bar.
Gather these supplies:
-
Multiple bottles of grower Champagne, chilled
-
Ice buckets (go traditional or get creative depending on your vibe)
-
Glassware (universal white wine glasses are best, but it’s OK to get fancy, too)
-
Salty snacks, in bowls (these Torres truffle potato chips are a fan favorite in our Seattle tasting room)
-
A clean counter, sideboard or table
Get a few things ready the night before:
You’ll need one standard-sized bottle of grower Champagne for every three to four guests. Chill them overnight in the fridge or for 20 minutes in an “ice bath” of half ice, half water to get your bottles nice and cold. Don’t forget to take stock of your glassware, and make sure all your glasses are shiny and dust-free.
Set the Champagne scene:
Pop each bottle of chilled Champagne and place it in an ice bucket. Here’s a Champagne bar pro-tip: Place unopened bottles in ice buckets, then pop them one after another once guests arrive to draw attention and make a sparkling scene. For ice buckets, don’t worry if you don’t have the traditional kind. This is your chance to get creative. A Yeti cooler or even an ice-filled bathtub works just fine.
Note: Why aren’t we fans of adding juice to our Champagne?
Grower Champagne is the good stuff, meticulously made in small batches by the same people who also grow the grapes and tend the vines. It is deliciously dry and so good on its own. Trust us, you won’t even miss the juice.
On your prepared table or other surface, line up your glassware next to the Champagne bottles in their ice buckets. Arrange a few small bowls of salty snacks nearby, and voilà!

Now you’re ready to set up the perfect DIY Champagne bar — a surefire win for wedding parties, bridal showers, watch parties, New Year’s Eve celebrations, birthdays, brunch buffets, book club gatherings, anniversary parties and any other celebration you dream up.
For the Host Gift Box:
Bring this festive, three-bottle gift box to your favorite party planner, or take it home and host a sparkling shindig of your own. Either way, you’re on your way to being the most interesting person in the room.
