Vadin Plateau Terre de Moines
As one of three cuvées of this nature, Yann focused here on highlighting a single vineyard, varietal, and vintage. This cuvée is 100% 2014 pinot meunier from their Premier Cru vineyards in Cumières. The grapes for this one grow close to the village of Hautsvillers— the home of famous Benedictine monk and cellar master Dom Perignon. Hence the name Terre de Moines, meaning the monk’s lands.
Nose This rich cuvée has aromas of bourbon vanilla and almonds without overpowering the floral scent of honeysuckle.
Taste You’ll notice a beautiful balance to this highly structured wine. Notes of marzipan and buttered toast give way to the flavors of the forest; damp earth and moss.
Food pairing Enjoy this cuvée alongside sharp aged cheeses, fresh pomegranate seeds, or as toast before a night out.
Story Take a sip and leave all the fuss and smooth asphalted roads behind, to be greeted with peace and fragrant nature. The forest caresses your senses with its beauty, sounds and smells; damp moss, golden sunlight breaking between the branches, colorful flowers bursting with sweet nectar. Imagine that Ferngully wonderland.
Note Age: 30% oak (fermented and then aged for 7 months), 80% stainless steel
