In this package try two of the oldest wines Fat Cork carries. Gimonnet-Oger is known for his long aged, blanc de blancs. These bottles offer an amazing balance between aged complexity, and recently disgorged freshness.
Gimonnet-Oger Blanc de Blancs Millésime 1996 Nature
This is a special version on the 1996 that we asked Jean-Luc Gimonnet to finish with zero dosage. The absolute dryness of this cuvée is amplified by the bright acidity of the vintage. Expressive and complex with notes of fresh lemon, butter, honeysuckle, thyme, lemongrass, and candied pineapple. Enjoy as an aperitif, or alongside fresh seafood.
Gimonnet-Oger Blanc de Blancs Millésime 1998
Star bright with green reflections. Young with grapefruit, white flower, and minerality. Followed by more complexity with notes of butter, honey and ginger, and candied lemon. Well balanced with lively acidity, opening to a melted effervescence. The finish is long, acidic, and slightly chalky. Could be enjoyed by itself, but would also go well with mushroom risotto.
