    Fat Cork at Ponzi Vineyards

    TINY BUBBLES SPARKLING SEMINAR

April 16th, 2-4pm | Ponzi Vineyards Winery | Sherwood, Oregon

Explore Fat Cork grower Champagnes and Oregon sparkling wines at the iconic Oregon winery, Ponzi Vineyards! Bryan is honored to be presenting alongside winemaker Luisa Ponzi where they will lead an educational seminar all about bubbles!

The Ponzis are pioneers in the Oregon Wine Industry. In the late 1960’s, the Pacific Northwest was not thought to be a place to grow great wine grapes, but the Ponzi family realized the Northern Willamette Valley was ideal for cool climate varieties and in 1970, Ponzi Vineyards was founded. After more than 40 years of making wonderful still wine, it is a natural progression that the second generation is starting to make great sparkling wine from the same cool climate varietals grown in Champagne, France.

We are thrilled to have our Champagne featured at the historic Ponzi Vineyards! Join us to taste, discover, and enjoy bubbles from both Fat Cork and Oregon (including the release of Ponzi’s 2013 “Cin Cin” Brut Rosé!). Small bites will be provided. Space is limited, click here for tickets!

    And the Oscar goes to…

    Bonjour Champagne lovers!

We believe all of the Champagne we import deserves a spot on the red carpet! But, in the spirit of the Academy Awards, we wanted to recognize a few that are especially impressive.

If these bottles could talk, they would thank you for all of your support in their bubbly careers.

    Cheers!
    Team Fat Cork

    And the Oscar goes to…

    Best Picture of the Year

    Gimonnet-Oger Blanc de Blancs Millésime 1996 / $159

Produced from the chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs region, this cuvée has been aging in Jean-Luc’s cellars for 18+ years! This Champagne is sure to become the Clint Eastwood of your collection, guaranteed to “make your day”. It’s magnificent right now, but will also age under cork for years to come.

    Red Carpet Stunner

Grongnet Carpe Diem Extra Brut Rosé de Saignée Magnum / $188

This voluptuous bottle is sure to delight both your eyes and your mouth! The body of the wine, soft and smooth like silk, liberates itself progressively as the wine warms in the mouth. Ooh la la! It’s bold, it’s pink, and it sachets across your palate.

    Best Leading Actress

    Jean Baillette-Prudhomme Memoris / $69

Laureen Baillette is a true star hailing from the Montagne de Reims region. At only 29 years old, Laureen runs her family’s operation with her mother and sister, producing her cuvées on a pink wooden press. This particular cuvée is Pinot Noir based and aged for 7+ years in the bottle. It’s rich and bold with great acidity.

    Best Costume Design

    Hervy-Quenardel Blanc de Blancs 2000/ $96

You can’t always judge a bottle by its label, but in the case of this cuvée, the beautiful painted bottle is equally as wonderful as the bubbles inside. There are less than 100 bottles left in the world; we were lucky enough to import 12 last year.

    Champagne Bridal Shower

Last week we made our Bridal Blog debut with a feature on Style Me Pretty for a Champagne Bridal Shower we created with Katie Parra Photography! We partnered with Katie to create a French bridal shower featuring Champagne, the most celebratory of beverages! Our goal was to encourage brides to think of their shower not only as an afternoon of gifts and silly games, but also as an opportunity to check one more thing off the never-ending to-do list ––selecting their wedding Champagne with their most trusted taste-testers. We wanted the bridal shower to feel like a French fête, complete with rustic baguettes, fresh fruit, and delicious cheeses. We had a blast sipping Champagne, devouring French fare, and toasting to friends and fun!

Visit us in our Seattle Tasting Room to taste our selection of Wedding Champagne and choose the perfect cuvée for your special day! Our tasting room is also available for private celebrations.
